It's no fun just having the hamsters and more expensive to buy each item separately. We bought this for a friend's birthday. It includes two rooms of the funhouse and a hamster to play with. A perfect starting point for your future Zhu Zhu city! My only compliant about Zhu Zhu pets is that we've had 2 hamsters that didn't work. They were bought elsewhere and replaced, but they didn't work after a day. That's the reason for the durability score.

My daughter really wanted a Zhu Zhu pet for Christmas so we bought one for her. She played with it for about 20 minutes and now it sits around taking up space. The Zhu Zhu pets are cute but offer very little interactive playtime so they don't hold kids interest for very long. Cost outweighs the benefit of these toys and I would not recommend making the investment.

The granddaughters love the Zhu Zhu pets, but the funhouse would not stay together. The animals kept breaking out and having to be put back in.

Warning, the kids love this but the connectors are impossible to piece together, flimsy, and poorly designed. So if you have more then one piece, you will start cursing the engineering who made the toy. I am.

This product is essential if you are planning on having other rooms connected for your zhu zhu's. I wish they would have had this product in stores though instead of just online cause now at Walmart I could have got it for $[...] instead of the $[...] I paid.
