This was a gift for my granddaughter's 9th birthday to go with the Zhu Zhu pets I sent. She loves it.

The kids love this. It stays together much better than the other accessories and is easy for the hamsters to move about in. The one real problem I've seen with it is that the plug-in "doors" - white plastic plugs to keep the hamsters in the house - don't stay put when the hamsters nudge against them. We've had several escapes but fortunately since these are robot hamsters, this hasn't been a big problem. If anything, the escape attempts make the kids laugh. Still, the plugs don't do the job they're supposed to. The center tunnel is sturdy and doesn't break apart very easily unlike the extension tunnels that come with the other add-on accessories. In all I'd say this is the best Zhu-Zhu Pets accessory I've seen.

My daughter had been asking for a hamster since she'd seen the movie G-Force. It wasn't happening since we already have a dog, cat and a fish. I'm tired. Anyway, I felt like this was the next best thing to getting another animal. after reading a lot of the reviews on this, I didn't have high hopes for this, but we went on and bought it anyway, and boy I am glad we did. She loves it. We bought this at the same time we got our first zhu zhu pet and boy, I tell ya, this is really cute. No it is not the best piece of workmanship, but hey, it's a toy, so I don't take it very seriously. It took a few minutes to figure out how to get the connectors to lock into the tunnel, but I eventually got it and it fits very securely. It is really cute the way the zhu zhu scampers thru the rooms and tunnel while making all kinds of cute noises. We are very pleased with this. Sometimes the pet gets stuck in the tunnel or falls on his side, but again, that means you just need to sit it up again and it just takes off zipping around. I'd rather it sometimes get hung or fall over and require some intervention from my daughter than for her to sit and just watch while doing nothing. After all, that keeps her engaged and interacting with her new "hamster".

I bought this at the height of the craze and paid way more than I should have. It is mildly amusing but doesn't stay together very well. I wish I had saved my money and waited for the Easter Bunny to bring it instead of Santa! I could have gotten I much better deal!
