| Customer Reviews: Just okay! March 23, 2010 M.E.'s Family (Texas) I give it two stars because it is BPA free but, other than that, it isn't great. I would say that 6 months and up is a better recommendation. Prior to that our daughter had little interest and really still does not. I suggest removing two "keys" from the white ring (pull hard, it will come apart) and let your baby play with one "key" on the ring or just play with one "key" without the ring. Three hard "keys"on the ring is a bit hazardous if you have a baby that likes to bang or swing toys. Also, because of the odd shape and having three on the ring, it is harder for a baby to get a good edge in their mouth. The "key" with the small semi-circle tip is okay, since our daughter can get it in her mouth and bite the thicker part, but the other two are awkward and too wide. This was a gift to our daughter; I would not have bought it myself nor recommend it. We also received the Vulli green mushroom Cool it Soother teether (water ring) and I don't recommend that either. Sophie the giraffe is much better than either. The best teethers we've tried are Avent's Range Front Teeth green animal and Born Free's Silcone Teether/toothbrush.
baby likes it, but I worry... August 21, 2009 Dagny Taggart 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My baby really likes this toy, but I only let her play with it when I am watching because I worry that the little loop off of one of the figures or the ears of another might break off and create a choking hazzard. Sophie (by the same company) is AMAZING so I was expecting another fabulous baby toy, but this fell short.
Cute but not soft April 13, 2009 Suz in Seattle (Seattle, of course!) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
I had hoped the rattle keys were made of the same material the Vulli soft Gnon toys are made of. Instead, these keys are made of a standard hard plastic material. The little key faces are cute, but the little bits on the heads are thin enough that they would abrade my daughter's tender gums when she tried to chew on the keys. So we've taken the toy away until she's older.
The accent color (ie the yellow on the blue face, the blue on the green face, and the yellow on the pink face) is sandwiched between the main color plastic. The area at the top of the face in which the plastic pokes out isn't sealed so when you wash the toy, water gets in a little bit. It's not a big deal, just make sure to shake the keys well when you dry them to get all of the water out.
All in all, it's not a great toy...not a bad toy. I wouldn't recommend them for a teething baby because of the accents on the top of the heads. I highly recommend the SOFT Vulli products though. They're just the right texture and firmness for a teething baby.
